Attempted Assault and Attempted Kidnapping In CP Neighborhood!

Be aware of your surroundings, and talk to your kids about being aware of theirs.

Yesterday, there were two very troubling incidents in Candler Park – an attempted kidnapping and an attempted assault. Luckily, no one was hurt. We all need to be very vigilant and look out for any suspicious activity. Watch your backs, watch your neighbors’, keep porch lights on at night. It does not appear that the 2 events are related.

News on the assault attempt (with video and photo of suspect):

Below is the post from Next Door about the attempted kidnapping.

A detective from the Atlanta PD came to our door last night to ask if we saw anything strange around 4pm yesterday. Apparently there was an attempted (and thankfully unsuccessful) kidnapping at the corner of Iverson and Candler Park Drive. I don’t have many details but it sounded like a child leaving the bus stop was involved but was not harmed. The detective told me it would be a good idea to keep the kids inside until they sorted things out. The APD also thought it was unrelated to the incident reported on Glendale around the same time.
Be on the lookout and spread the word – Purple van with white stripe (which should stick out like a sore thumb) – Black male and Hispanic male with blond hair. If you have any additional information or see anything that fits that description call Crimestoppers at 404.577.8477 or 911
