MARK YOUR CALENDARS: Sun. October 20th 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Play Date/Education Update @ Candler Park
On November 5th all 9 seats of the Atlanta Board of Education (ABOE) are up for election. It is important that we have qualified and committed representatives on the Board as they are the final decision makers on things such as the long term strategy for our schools, how funds will be allocated, and school zone attendance.
Many of the races are highly competitive with several candidates running. To learn more about the candidates and why this election is so important for our community, we invite you to join us for a Play Date and Coffee Chat at Candler Park with members of the Lake Claire and Candler Park Education Committees. We have met with many of the candidates, and would be happy to share our insights and answer any questions you may have about the election (and to discuss any other APS topics of interest).
Children welcome!
When: Sunday October 20th 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Where: Candler Park
*Please check the Lake Claire or Candler Park website for rain date information.
In past elections, school board races have sometimes been won by fewer than 1,000 votes, so every vote counts. Given that there are over 4000 registered voters in Lake Claire and Candler Park, we can have an impact on this very important race! We hope to see you on the 20th.
