Minutes-Lake Claire Neighbors

           Monthly Meeting: Thurs. July 15, 2021

                                    7:15 PM via Zoom

The meeting began at 7:15 with 11 members attending and 4 guests

 

Guest speakers (Representatives of the City Council, and Atlanta Police Department)

Lt. Web (jwebb@atl.ga.gov) , APD, 6th Precinct, commented on the recent shooting at Little Five Points.   No arrests so far but the APD is continuing its investigation.

Valencia Hudson reported that there were no serious problems for Lake Claire.

Announcements and current issues:

The rezoning proposal from Council Member Amir R. Farokhi was brought up.   The matter concerned an addition of new regulations for single-family residences for properties near Marta stations to allow denser housing to the City’s Comprehensive Development Plan (CDP).    Beth promised to get a copy of the proposal.

A question was raised about the new ordinance for Airbnb’s passed by the Atlanta City Council.  Carol said she would try to get a copy of the ordinance.

A resident spoke about the deteriorating conditions of the Hospitality House and that a hearing for the demolition of a caretakers house in the Cator Woolford Gardens and the putting up of a fence on parts of the Frazer Forrest.  The hearing with the DeKalb Historic Preservation Commission is scheduled for July 19.   Joe said he would contact Paige Kubic, the Ex. Director of the Frazer Center for more information.

The meeting ended at 7:45 pm
