  • Policing Alternatives and Diversion (PAD) – has been extended for 2 years.
  • Special election for Post 3 – 2 candidates in runoff.
  • Early voting starts Saturday, Dec 3 general election.
  • Questions about OIG- we support OIG’s independence

Candidate for Dekalb Commission district 3, Andrew Bell introduced himself.

Request to support a grant proposal to Park Pride to complete the next phase of the approved Lake Claire Park Master Plan.

  • FoLCP is an advocacy group:
  • We wrote a grant for the Marlbrook Park Entrance work, the playground sunshade, and this is our third: Stairs from the tennis plaza down to the playground, as there is currently a steep slope.
  • We are working from the approved LCP Master Plan – Map shown.
  • Request made to post the LC Master Plan to the LCN website. (This is on the Lake Claire Park page of the LCN Website for future reference.)
  • Question about new steps into the park from Lakeshore, were these from the plan? No, these were done by the city due to hazardous conditions with the granite steps.
  • Requesting Park Pride grant to provide: Stairs from the Tennis plaza from the entrance to the playground. $215,000 grant, matching with Park Pride.  (We have money from Park Pride, Baktiari grant, LCN neighbors, Friends of LCP)
  • Motion to support this grant: carries 18-0

Lake Claire Holiday Fair Walking Tour – Dec 7 10:30 – 4:30

  • Join your neighbors for a walking tour of Lake Claire with local handmade arts and crafts from Kids and Adults. There will be bands and food trucks. Rain or Shine, Join us!

Winter Wonders in the Garden for Kids: at Frazer – Dec 14 from 4:30 – 7:00

  • Please join us for a festive stroll through the gardens! Cator Woolford Gardens will be decked in lights and decor celebrating the winter holidays, and neighbors, community members, and first-time visitors are welcome to stroll through any time between 4:30 and 7:00 p.m. Enjoy the beautiful winter blooms as well as FREE: Photo Keepsakes, Cocoa & Cookies, Photos with Santa!

Holiday Jingle & Mingle Gathering at the Land Trust – December 14, 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM

  • Join us for our first annual Holiday Jingle & Mingle gathering! We’re very excited to present this extravaganza of holiday merriment!
