Visit with Santa, Children Around the World and Christmas Music at Epworth

This Sunday, December 9, Epworth has a special musical worship service planned as we prepare for Christmas. At our 10:50 a.m. Sunday worship, some of the children from the Epworth Day School will be singing, as well as our own Epworth Children’s Choir. The Five o’Clock Shadows and the Adult Choir will share Christmas carols from around the world–French, German, Czech, Polish, British, and African-American to name a few. This is sure to be a joyous celebration!

And you can visit with Santa after worship at our Children Around the World celebration in the Fellowship Hall. We’ve gotten word from the North Pole that Santa is taking a break from his busy December schedule and plans to join us at Epworth! We’ll have a “Cookie Table” and Hot Chocolate Bar for everyone to enjoy as they wait to see jolly ole St. Nick. Don’t forget to bring a camera for a special photo with Santa!

8th Annual Plein Air Painters Exhibit

Our Lake Claire artist Janpen (Pen) Sherwood is showing 8 paintings in this exhibition – one of them is featured in the exhibition poster.

The show includes over 80 paintings from local Atlanta area artists and offers some good ideas for holiday gifts.
The library itself is one of Atlanta’s best and has plenty of free parking – well worth a visit.

Holiday Open House at The Wren’s Next Sunday, Dec. 9th – 1-4pm

The Wren’s Nest is donning its best Victorian sparkle for our annual Holiday Open House and birthday party for Joel Chandler Harris!
Wrangle up your friends and favorite family members and come on over from 1-4pm. There will be storytelling, tours, a harpist, hot apple cider, birthday cake, and other treats and entertainment. (December 9th is Joel Chandler Harris’ actual birthday – he would have been 167. The State of Georgia has even decreed that we celebrate this auspicious occasion. See?)

Admission is free. We thought it would be great to help the folks impacted by Sandy though, so consider bringing along canned food and clothing. We’ll be sure to send it their way. We’d love to know you can come. An RSVP is appreciated, but spontaneity is always allowed.
