Following are the upcoming meetings regarding the schools redistricting issue that Neighbors should know about. Please add these to your calendar.
Inman Middle LSC Cross Cluster Community Meeting
When : Monday, February 27th at 6 p.m.
Where: Inman Middle School Media Center; 774 Virginia Avenue, NE Atlanta, GA 30306
Detail: The Inman LSC is hosting a Cross Cluster Community Meeting. The meeting will be focused on redistricting and how it impacts middle school capacity within the Grady Cluster.
Attendees should:
- Be Prepared to share ideas and potential solutions
- Ready to discuss the pros and the cons
- Open to listening to ideas proposed in the forum and participate in a friendly exchange of ideas.
- The meeting is open to the entire community. Please attend!
CINS (Council of Intown Neighborhoods and Schools) Board Meeting
When: Monday, February 27th at 7 p.m.
Where: Mary Lin at the Hall House (separate building to the left of the main school entrance).
Detail: The meeting is open to everyone.
ABOE Committee of the Whole and Board Work Session
When: Monday, March 5 at 2:00 p.m.
Where: APS – The Center for Learning and Leadership Auditorium, 130 Trinity Avenue SW, Atlanta, GA 30303
Detail: It is possible that Superintendent Davis will present his initial recommended option during this meeting. The public can attend, but there will not be an opportunity for public comment.
APS Board Community Meeting
When: Monday, March 5 at 6:00 p.m.
Where: APS – The Center for Learning and Leadership Auditorium, 130 Trinity Avenue SW, Atlanta, GA 30303
Detail: This will be an important one for EVERYONE to attend. It is possible that Superintendent Davis will present his recommended option at the earlier Board work session at 2:00 p.m., and the community will be allowed to make statements. Please arrive no later than 5:00 p.m. if you want to sign up to speak.
APS Strategic Planning Meetings
When: Monday March 12 and Wednesday March 21 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Where: APS – The Center for Learning and Leadership Auditorium, 130 Trinity Avenue SW, Atlanta, GA 30303
Detail: During these meetings we believe ABOE will discuss items such as alternative school configurations (e.g. K- 8, 5/6 academy, etc.). These will be open meetings, but there will not be an opportunity for public comment. They have not been officially noticed yet, so there may be a change in date/time.
